Who We Are
History
EARLY SILICON VALLEY ROOTS.
In the late 1950’s Ed Moran was an acclaimed but starving artist. He founded one of the Valley’s first sign shops, on The Alameda in Santa Clara. At that time, the Santa Clara Valley was mostly made up of apricot orchards. This was more than a decade before assuming its current-day moniker, the Silicon Valley. His company served some of the first prominent local tech companies at the time. This included IBM, HP and Fairchild Semiconductor. In fact, some of his handy work can be seen in the photo on the left behind the company founders. Additionally, Ed developed long-lasting relationships with the early developers who built out the valley. These included Trammel Crow Company, Spieker Properties, and Lincoln Property Company. Moreover, all are customers we continue to do business with to this day.
Ed’s son Danny grew up working in the family business. Then, in 1993, he took ownership, renaming the company Corporate Sign Systems. For many years, Corporate Sign Systems worked on the ‘build’ side of the business, mostly through outside designers and consultants. In 2016, Danny and his wife Nancy launched LUX Create, an in-house design and art studio. They did this for their love of art and yearning to bring the company back to its art-based roots. Therefore, the creation of the new ‘design + build’ model resulted in creative, efficient, and value-driven projects for our customers.
Today, Corporate Sign Systems and LUX Create employ some of the industries’ top creative thinkers and artisan fabricators in the business. Our two teams work side by side under the same roof, in collaboration with leading artists from around the world. Together, they deliver some of the largest, most unique signage & wayfinding, EGD and private and public art projects. These projects are delivered locally, nationally, and internationally.

We are experts in local, national and global signage branding. Many of our corporate customers have locations all over the world. Therefore, they utilize our service as their ‘one stop shop’ for consistent quality, ease of communications, and project efficiencies. We have the experience to execute all construction activities associated with these projects. These include signage removal, building repair, painting, electrical, concrete, local permitting, and subcontractor negotiations. Furthermore, our work has been installed in all 50 states and in 150 countries around the globe.

We are OSHA compliant. Additionally, our safety program involves four basic points of reference:

- Daily worksite analysis
- Continuous hazard prevention and control
- Weekly training of field staff
Overall, the success our safety program is reflected by our low Experience Modification Rate.
